Ethereum Foundation Launches Two Attack Networks for Ethereum 2.0 Testing
The Ethereum Foundation has launched two "attack networks" for Ethereum 2.0, allowing hackers to earn up to $5,000 for identifying weaknesses in the system. These networks provide a sandbox environment for security researchers to find potential loopholes and test the Ethereum 2.0 network's security.
Details
The network currently has only four nodes deployed. However, Ethereum 2.0, when deployed, is expected to run on thousands of nodes. To attack the network, hackers must attempt to attack it in an unvalidated manner.
The target for the attacker is to "continuously block 16 Epochs" using any means possible. This means that the hacker must shut down the Ethereum 2.0 network for 102 minutes or make it insecure.
If the hacker or organization successfully destroys the network using this method, a bounty of $5,000 will be awarded for each of the two networks.

Overall, the launch of these attack networks is a significant step towards making Ethereum 2.0 more secure, ensuring the network is prepared for potential attacks.
